Educational Excursion in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS) under PM SHRI Scheme
Under the PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) scheme, selected Kendriya Vidyalayas organize educational excursions as an integral part of students’ holistic development.
1. Objectives of Educational Excursion

To provide experiential learning beyond the classroom.

To familiarize students with national heritage, science, technology, culture, agriculture, industry, and environment.

To develop patriotism, social responsibility, curiosity, and research-oriented thinking.

To promote experiential learning as envisioned in NEP 2020 (National Education Policy).
2. Key Features of Educational Excursion

Selection of Destination:

Historical monuments, scientific institutions (ISRO, DRDO, IIT, etc.), museums, industries, national parks, or cultural heritage sites.

Local or inter-state trips depending on school approval and available budget.

Planned with consent of Principal, teachers, and parents.

Special grants under PM SHRI can be utilized to cover expenses.
