PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Durg is committed to care of the
budding artist in the field of Arts & Craft by discovering and
developing the innate individual talents of students.
As Art education constitutes an important area of curricular
activity for the development of the wholesome personality of the
learners. The Vidyalaya provides opportunities among students for
the development of awareness about folk arts, local specific arts and
other cultural components leading to an appreciation of national
heritage. It enable students to achieve a balanced growth as a social
being in tune with our culture through project work. Under Art classes
students use to learn Two-dimensional art & craft work through
Drawing and painting, collage making, printing, photography and
Three-dimensional art in the form of clay modelling, pottery &
Sculptures.
Through arts and craft, children learn to value and appreciate
artifacts and images across cultures and times. Experience
in design, art, and crafts enable them to reflect critically on
their own work and those by others. They learn to act and
think like designers and artists, working intelligently and
creatively.
